Yields at Prodimex farms in 2022 are forecasted to be higher than a year ago

November 25, 2022
Weather conditions this autumn significantly complicated the farmers’ activities. Continuous rains in most regions of central Russia have affected both the harvesting of this year’s crop and the sowing of winter crops of 2023.

However the yields of already harvested crops including winter and spring wheat as well as winter barley exceed last year’s figures. Generally the grain yield of Prodimex Group farms this year is 47% higher than in 2021. In some regions this figure is even higher: for example in Bashkortostan it is more than 83% and in the Penza region —  73% higher than the corresponding indicators of the previous season. At the farms located in the southern Russia the yield increase was 7% with the average grain yield in the current season slightly below 7 t/ha.

Agricultural enterprises of Prodimex Group in all regions continue to harvest sugar beet although with a certain delay: weather conditions interfere with its completing in optimal agronomic terms. But the average yield this season exceeds last year indicators by 20%. The leaders are the enterprises of the Southern Federal district and the Central Black earth region, where the average yield exceeds 60 and 50 t/ha respectively.

The yields estimates for soybean, sunflower and corn are also forecasted higher than the last year. The farms in the south are harvesting corn, in Bashkortostan — sunflower. In every region where late crops are harvested the process is complicated not only by rain but also by very high humidity.
