Spring sowing is in full swing at Prodimex Group farms

At Prodimex Group farms in Krasnodar and Stavropol regions spring sowing is underway. Sowing of peas, oats, and annual grasses has been completed and potatoes are planted. Currently winter crops are being fed and are their condition is estimated as satisfactory. The start of sugar beet sowing is scheduled for the last weeks of March and will involve the area of 23,000 ha.
Kursk region farms plan to sow spring crops on an area of 144,000 ha. Launch of the campaign is forecasted from March 25th to April 30th for spring wheat and sugar beets and soybeans from April 25th to May 31st .
In the fields under spring wheat where soil preparation was not carried out in the fall the farms are planning direct sowing. At the moment, the soil has thawed and there is enough moisture in it. Agronomists have concluded that winter crops had overwintered safely.
Meanwhile Kursk region farms started feeding winter crops and seed treatment of spring wheat is being carried out. Up to the moment the equipment is more than 40% ready, and by the beginning of the sowing campaign it will be prepared completely.
In Penza region agricultural enterprises plan to start feeding winter crops shortly. At the moment, the soil is frozen, but according to experts winter crops overwintered normally and there is enough moisture for them. Seeds and fertilizers for the sowing campaign have been stored up, the machinery is 70% ready, and the start of sowing is scheduled for mid-April. Agricultural enterprises of Bashkortostan are planning to start feeding winter crops during the first week of April and the planned date for the start of the sowing campaign is between April 20th and 25th. The whole volumes of seeds and fertilizers for the sowing campaign have been stocked up and the machinery is ready for the new season.
In the Belgorod region, winter crops are being fed, next week agricultural enterprises plan to start applying mineral fertilizers for sugar beet and sunflower, and start sowing spring wheat. In early April they plan to start sowing sugar beets.
Enterprises managed by Prodimex Agro Management Company (Voronezh, Lipetsk and Tambov regions) started spring agricultural activity from March 11. Mineral fertilizers are applied for spring crops, as well as winter wheat and perennial grasses. By March 15, fertilizers were applied on an area of 2.8 thousand hectares.
This season, the sown area of winter wheat is 34% less than a year earlier and amounts to 74,700 ha. The autumn weather conditions contributed to the decrease in the crops area. Due to the lower figures of winter crops the area under spring crops and soybeans has increased. Compared to 2022 the area of spring wheat increased by 48%, spring barley by 10%, and soybeans by 16%. The planned area under sugar beet crops in 2023 has not changed significantly compared to 2022 and will amount to 82,000 ha. The forecast dates for the start of the sowing campaign are from the very end of March or the first days of April.
There are enough resources for carrying out spring field work. It is planned to use over 1770 units of machinery. The Prodimex Group farms are fully provided with fuel and machinery spare parts and components, their necessary amounts have been stocked up by the farms.
