RBC: Staff for the sowing season — Prodimex Agro trains specialists for the new season
Since the end of December, the management company Prodimex Agro (part of Prodimex Group) has, as is its custom, launched a large-scale professional development program for its employees. The training, which will last until March, covers agronomists, engineers and machine operators. The main goal is to update knowledge of modern technologies and prepare the teams for the upcoming production season.
Strategic dialogue with market leaders
The first format is strategic seminars attended by agronomists from all of the company’s divisions. The key speakers are representatives of partner companies, leading players in the market for seeds, plant protection products, fertilizers and agricultural machinery. At these meetings participants not only listen to lectures but are engaged in an open exchange of views and in-depth discussion of growing technologies for the main crops.
Internal seminars and the agronomy olympiad
The second block is internal seminars run by regional production managers and specialist staff of the management company. Here agronomists of production divisions go through the technological elements used directly on the holding’s farms. At the end, trainees must take the test of the agronomy olympiad. In 60 minutes they must answer 60 questions covering not only the theoretical material of the seminars but also general agronomy questions. Of particular value are the case tasks, in which real production situations are modeled on an “initial conditions — solutions” pattern. Valuable prizes are provided for the best agronomists, which further motivates specialists toward professional growth.
Practice in fields and workshops
The third format is on-site practical sessions held during the period of field work itself. Representatives of partner companies come to Prodimex Group sites and hold seminars right in the workshops or in the field. Not only agronomists but also engineers and machine operators take part.
“The series of training events is an integral part of the corporate culture of the management company Prodimex Agro, part of Prodimex Group, which is aimed at continuous development. This systematic work directly affects the quality of decisions made and helps achieve consistently high results throughout the entire production cycle,” the agroholding stressed.
