Prodimex Group opened educational center in Russian State Agrarian University

On November 30th Prodimex Group opened the interactive educational center at the Timiryazev Agrarian University. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture M. Uvaidov, Academician N. Dolgushkin, representatives of the university as well as Prodimex Group Deputy General Director V. Yeryzhensky.
The nearest plans of the center are to enable at least 4,000 students to study in the interactive classes of this development center annually. Some lessons for postgraduates of the Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology have already been hold.
There are three main working areas at the center: a sugar class with an interactive model of a sugar factory, an agronomic zone and a phytoclass. On an interactive miniature one can see the entire process of sugar production from the field to the product warehouse. In the agronomic zone students will study the technology of sugar beet cultivation. In phytolcass the laboratory equipment lets the students not only to perform experiments within their curriculum but also to launch scientific research. Some full size agricultural gears such as cultivator for sugar beet crops, precision seed drill, pre-sowing tillage unit and a plow for tillage are presented in the center. During the event the guests of the center were greeted by the students from different regions of Russia, such as Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Rostov among others.
State Secretary — Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maxim Uvaydov emphasized the importance of interaction between science and business. «I am convinced that the launch of a specialized educational center will give a new impulse to the training of young professionals for the agro-industrial branch. The opening of the center will engage the students and postgraduates in the scientific community of the University and contribute to their resolution to work in the industry. It is important that the experience will be replicated to other agricultural universities», Mr. Uvaydov emphasized during the opening ceremony.
Vadim Yeryzhensky, Deputy General Director of Prodimex Group said that every year the company invites students from agricultural universities for internships so that they can improve their knowledge both in the sugar industry and more widely in agriculture.
The launch of the Prodimex educational center marks a new stage of cooperation which should provide highly qualified professionals for the industry in the near future.
