Prodimex welcomes guests at the Khokholsky sugar plant

As part of their work placement, students of Kursk State Agrarian University visited the Khokholsky sugar plant, part of Prodimex Group. The trip gave the students an introduction to the real production environment of one of the enterprises in the Voronezh region, where some of them will do a long placement this production season and perhaps continue their professional path.
The students saw not the “parade” side of production but the plant’s real work in the period of preparation for the season.
In the locksmith workshop the students were shown how pumping equipment is repaired and what operations are performed during servicing and restoration. The group then walked through the plant’s main areas — from the beet receiving section to the process zones where repair and preparatory work is currently under way: replacing sections of pipeline, welding operations and preparing equipment for pressure testing.
Special attention during the tour was paid to the interaction of repair services with the operators of production areas. For future specialists this is important practical experience: at a plant the result depends not only on the ability to perform a specific fitting operation but also on understanding the whole process, discipline, the interconnection of divisions and the responsibility of every participant in production.
The chief mechanic not only talked but also invited the students to reason how a fault in an area can be identified, asked questions and explained in detail why certain repair decisions are important for the stable operation of the plant.
At the end of the meeting the students were presented with commemorative gifts.
Such trips have become an integral part of the joint work of Prodimex and Kursk State Agrarian University. For students in target groups it is vitally important to see production from the inside themselves, understand the requirements of their future profession, meet the people who ensure the plant’s operation every day and feel that their studies are connected with the real tasks of the industry.
