Prodimex works with experts from Lomonosov Moscow State University to protect biodiversity

May 28
At the end of April, field research visits were conducted by experts from Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Russian Academy of Sciences at several Prodimex Group agricultural enterprises in Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais.

Accompanied by the chief agronomists of Prodimex farms, the experts assessed the environmental functions and conservation potential of natural ecosystems adjoining the farms’ fields and in their immediate surroundings.

The aim of the research is to develop programs and action plans for protecting biological diversity in intensively used agricultural landscapes. The outcome of the research will be the formation of effective region-oriented measures to preserve key and protected species of plants and animals and valuable and vulnerable ecosystems in the area of responsibility of the agricultural enterprises.

This is the first experience of cooperation between Prodimex and scientists in assessing biodiversity conservation. Similar studies are already planned this autumn at the Group’s farms in the Voronezh and Kursk regions. The farms will receive the results of the current study and further recommendations in the coming months.
