Prodimex told guests of Timiryazev Academy about grain crops and bread
April 6
A master class on grain crops for schoolchildren was held at the Prodimex educational center.
At the master class at the Prodimex interactive educational center, specialists of the Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy introduced pupils of School No. 1454 in Moscow to the main grain crops of Russian and world crop production. The lesson had a practical focus: schoolchildren were able to examine different types of cereals visually and learned to tell them apart by their inflorescences and seeds. They learned about the variety of uses of these crops — from bread making to animal feed — and also got acquainted with interesting facts about their biology and structure.
To reinforce the knowledge gained and motivate the children, a quiz was organized in which the most attentive listeners were able not only to demonstrate their knowledge but also to win souvenir prizes.
The master class ended in the warm atmosphere of a shared tea party, where schoolchildren could try bread made from various grain crops.
Such master classes help schoolchildren approach the choice of a future profession consciously. The children see from concrete examples how interesting and important work in crop production can be.
