RBC: Prodimex has started top-dressing winter crops in the Voronezh region
With the arrival of spring warmth, specialists of Prodimex Group are preparing for the start of the active farming season. Farms of the agroholding in the southern part of the region have already begun top-dressing winter crops. According to specialists’ forecasts, this work may enter its active stage in the coming week.
At the company’s northern and eastern sites, top-dressing will start later. As the Group noted, because of weather conditions the start of the season has shifted a week later this year compared with last.
“Preparations for spring field work are under way: the group’s branches are fully prepared for applying fertilizers, from purchasing fertilizers to preparing the equipment for applying them. In addition, preparation is being completed for taking other implements and units into the field — seed drills, tillage tools and sprayers. All implements are fully stocked with spare parts to minimize downtime in the field,” the company stressed.
In parallel with technical preparation, Prodimex continues to train specialists and machine operators. The program includes both seminars from partner companies and internal training events. The topics of the sessions are geared toward the practical application of skills and cover the most relevant issues of carrying out field work.
The agroholding notes that the preparatory stage went fully on schedule and at a proper professional level.
Earlier, in reporting on the Group’s preparation for the spring campaign, RBC Chernozemye wrote that Prodimex agronomists record favorable conditions for the future harvest: there were no critical frosts this winter that could harm crops. The company has completed contracting of all resources needed to start field work — from seeds to fertilizers and crop protection products.
