On Sugar Industry Day, the joint educational program of Prodimex and Kursk State Agrarian University reached a new level. Agribusiness representatives opened two more specialized classrooms at the university.
“It is very pleasing that on this day, together with colleagues from Kursk State Agrarian University and Prodimex, we are opening new opportunities for young people and will train specialists adapted to work in the sugar industry,” said Vyacheslav Rodin, Deputy CEO of Prodimex Group, welcoming all the guests.
The new classrooms are intended for classes with groups in the “Technology of Food Products from Plant Raw Materials” program. The curriculum has been adjusted for work with sugar beet.
Andrey Bodin, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia, remarked: “Today it is impossible to train specialists without modern equipment. And in this respect the opening at Kursk State Agrarian University of laboratories prepared and equipped with the assistance of Prodimex, the leader of the Russian sugar industry, is an important event.”
The first classroom is a laboratory for process automation. The computer class for training in the basics of controlling sugar plant processes is equipped for laboratory work and practical classes. It is divided into process stations modeled on production at sugar plants and is designed for 18 students working at the same time — 6 workstations with 3 operators each.
The second classroom is a laboratory for quality and safety control of raw materials, semi-finished products and finished goods. The laboratory is arranged like a chemistry classroom and allows state-standard certification demo exams to be held. This laboratory has 5 workstations.
The classrooms make it possible to hold classes for Prodimex Group’s target groups. For reference: in 2024, 24 students enrolled in this specialization, and in 2025, 25 students. A group intake is also planned this year.
