Penza farmers are preparing agricultural machinery for spring field work

Prodimex Group farms in Penza region plan to start spring sowing mid-April, weather permitting. The agricultural enterprises have purchased fuel, repaired machinery and equipment. Before the start of an agricultural season the farms carried out technical inspection of the machinery and equipment. Soyuzagro farm in the Zemetchino district prepared 72 tractors for pre-season testing.
This year, about 12,000 hectares will be sown with sugar beet in this district of Penza region where the farms will partially use the seeds of domestic selection. The future harvest will be later processed at Zemetchinsky sugar plant.
«The equipment is almost 100% ready for spring field work. Last week we started applying mineral fertilizers for winter wheat. Sowing will begin on April 10 −15: first it will be peas, and then spring wheat,» said Timofey Koskin, head of Soyuzagro farm.
