Master class “Bread Is the Head of Everything” by Prodimex Group and Timiryazev Academy for primary school pupils

Prodimex once again welcomed young guests at the company’s interactive educational center, which has operated at the Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy since 2022.
The master class “Bread Is the Head of Everything” for 2nd-grade pupils of School No. 1454 “Timiryazevskaya” in Moscow was run by specialists of the Timiryazev Academy’s Department of Crop Production and Meadow Ecosystems. The children were welcomed by Alexandra V. Shitikova, acting director of the Institute of Agrobiotechnology and professor of the Department of Crop Production and Meadow Ecosystems. The working group that prepared and ran the master class included Professor Nikolay N. Lazarev and assistants Vladimir Vilkhovoy and Anastasia Povarnitsyna.
During the master class the young guests learned what the grain and inflorescences of the most important cereal crops look like — wheat, rye, oats, millet, rice and others — and what valuable and healthy products are made from these crops. The children were also told how modern crop production carries out such key grain-growing operations as soil preparation, sowing and harvesting.
The event ended with a friendly tea party and a tasting of breads made from various grain crops.
