The Russian leading agricultural-industrial group Prodimex is actively developing its digital ecosystem

Vadim Eryzhensky, Deputy Executive Director of Group of Companies Prodimex, came out with a topic, which arose a keen interest from the public at Agricultural Forum of Russia organized by the newspaper Vedomosti in Moscow on November 17. Market constituents and experts of different farm and processing industry sectors assisted at that Forum. The Forum was held simultaneously in two formats: in person in the conference room of Mariott hotel and by conference call for those who wished to participate remotely.

Important and relevant issues, especially sustainable development, farm digitalization and competitiveness of Russian agricultural business were discussed at the Forum.

Concerning the digital experience in the framework of Promidex group V. Eryzhensky highlights that the company has started implementing digital technologies in the agriculture production and processing industry about 10 years ago, when there were nor government support for that procedure, nor ready-made solutions for it on the market. A digitalization of all land boundaries used by crop-producing holding’s divisions in their operations, and usage of remote sensing for quality sowing assessment were one of the first experiences. The next stage of digital technologies implementation was an equipping of all used machinery with online monitoring systems with a number of state parameters readings.

Nowadays, the Group of Companies uses an efficient and complex digital ecosystem combining thousands of functions including accounting and all production operations support. What is more, it was developed by IT specialists, engineers and specialists of Group of Companies.

Now, the Russian market is presented by many ready-made digital solutions, but they fit for implementation not always and for everyone, highlighted V. Eryzhensky. As a rule, any ready-made program is a number of algorithms which are to be adapted, implemented in the present accounting company system. It requires a large quantity of man-hours and developers’ access to confidential information which is unacceptable for many major companies.

Taking into account all of these particularities, Prodimex is building up possibilities of its digital ecosystem by modernizing, improving and redesigning included parts by itself, or inviting specialist companies for working on particular tasks. Consequently, it improves its efficiency, security and reduces human factors impact on results.
